Antique Silver

Item: Table Spoon Description: Hanoverian rat-tail pattern Hallmark: London 1730 by Richard Pargeter Dimensions: 202mm long, 55g weight

Comments: A fine example of a rattail spoon with excellent bowl, prominent central ridge along the front stem and bold rat tail. The patina is lovely and the hallmarks are very good - although the date letter was mis-struck and the "P" date letter is identified mainly by the working period of the maker (i.e. first mark entered in 1730). The engraved crest to the reverse terminal is an unusual tall design with a dragon atop an axe.
