Antique Silver

Item: Table Spoon Description: Hanoverian Rat-tail pattern Hallmark: London circa 1710 by George Cox Dimensions: 192mm long, 52g weight

Comments: An interesting early example of a Hanoverian rattail spoon. The later distinctive central ridge down the front of the spoon is much more prominent as a strap. The Britannia Standard hallmarks on this Queen Anne period spoon have been worn (hence the much reduced price), but the New Standard mark of George Cox is very clear. Condition is good with some wear to the bowl tip and there is an engraved crest to the reverse terminal.

Ref.: KR/7673 Price: SOLD
