with feather-edge Hallmark: London circa 1765 by Benjamin
Bickerton Dimensions: 52mm wide Comments: A rare form of wine label in a transitional form between the escutcheon shape prevalent in the mid-18th century and the rectangle from the latter part of the century. The engraved feather edge design is typical of the 1765-1775 period. This Red Port label is in excellent condition and bears a clear maker's mark and lion passant.
