York Toast Rack, 1821

Details

This is a very rare example of a Georgian silver toast rack bearing York hallmarks. This is a large toast rack with enough spaces to hold 6 slices of bread/muffins/crumpets, it has a central carrying handle and stands on four ball feet. The condition is generally very good, however the ball feet are a little bashed/worn on the bases. The hallmarks are very clear and include the JB/WW maker's mark of the major York silversmithing partnership of Barber & Whitwell.
