Details

This is a really pleasing Georgian silver teapot with an elegant design and several nice additional touches of quality.

Emanating from the famous Bateman silversmithing workshop, this good-sized, rectangular teapot is decorated around the body with engraved bands, even the spout has an engraved outline to all four sides that is a nice extra attention to detail. The cover is fitted with a brown, wooden finial and has a well-made flush hinge. Cleverly carved to the top of wooden handle is a useful diamond-shaped thumb-rest which provides extra grip - we don't recall seeing this feature before. Finally, the four ball feet raise the pot from the table to prevent heat scorching.

This lovely looking teapot has a really satisfying feel to it and has no personalised engravings (nor erasures). It further benefits from being in excellent condition with a good patina and neither damage nor repair. A great piece!
