Pierced Drum Mustard Pot, 1874

Details

This is a good-sized and very beautiful Victorian silver mustard pot. Made by Barnards, one of the premier silversmiths of the 19th century, this drum-shaped mustard pot is superbly pierced and engraved around the body to show-off the internal blue glass liner, has a scroll handle and attractively decorated hinged cover with openwork thumb-piece. It bears the name of the original London retailers, Angell & Company, with the address of both shops to the inside cover and a full set of hallmarks under the base. There is an original engraved crest to the front.

This handsome mustard pot is in excellent condition.
