Wine Labels (3) - BARSAC, NOYAU & ORANGE BRANDY; Frilled D-shape - Cork circa 1800 by John Toleken - 5cm wide; 30g combined weight - CS/3208

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

These are a very scarce and yet competitively priced trio of silver wine labels. Although very similar in form, they are in fact a pair (Noyau & Orange Brandy) and a slightly larger singleton (Barsac). All three are scarce bottle ticket names and have the bonus of Irish provincial marks. They were all made in Cork by John Toleken; all three are clearly marked "Sterling" and two are also marked "TOLEKEN", the maker's mark is absent from the third label. The condition is excellent throughout.

Noyau is the oldest known French licqueur. It is an almond flavoured creme licqueur made from apricot kernels.

Barsac is a sweet white wine from the Barsac region of south western France.

Orange Brandy is a brandy based licqueur with an orange flavouring.
