7-Bottle Cruet Stand - Floral engraved Gallery with Wooden Base - London 1857 by John Evans II - 26cm high; 20.4cm x 15cm; 2630g gross weight with glass (stand only is 655g) - KH/8293

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This is a lovely quality Victorian cruet stand with the major benefit of retaining all the original bottles and each one in fine condition. The set comprises a mustard pot with hinged silver cover, two pepper pots with pull-off pierced silver covers, 2 large bottles with stoppers and two smaller examples (one has a gilt spice spoon attached to the stopper). The stand has a high silver gallery with a lovely floral engraved design and script monogram, a wooden base and tall central silver handle with bottle separator. The whole piece is a pleasure to behold and handle.

The stoppered bottles could be used for a variety of vinegar, oil or sauces (such as soy). The mustard pot is supplied with a fiddle pattern silver mustard spoon with gilt bowl - also hallmarked 1857 with the maker's mark for Haynes & Cater. The silver mounts to the mustard and pepper pots bear conforming hallmarks to the stand. The condition is excellent throughout with no damage or repairs - a very fine piece.
