Aesthetic Card Case, 1882

We are pleased to offer this lovely, Victorian period silver card case decorated in the Aesthetic taste. The Eastern influence can be seen to both sides of the case with engraved butterflies and bird amongst flowers with a central open fan to one side and a feeding heron scene set amidst bamboo and prunus to the other. The engraving is crisp throughout and continues across the hinged flip top opening. This case is a real beauty and it remains in excellent condition.
