Samuel Pemberton Caddy Spoon

This is a really lovely Georgian silver caddy spoon with attractive engraving around the handle and the elongated shovel-shaped bowl. Unusually, the spoon bears only the "SP" maker's mark for Samuel Pemberton which suggests that the spoon is quite an early Birmingham example, the additional lack of a duty mark suggests that it dates to the pre-1784 period. A very nice looking spoon in fine condition.
