Sorry, this item is out of stock.

Charles Rawlings was an excellent maker of silver wine labels during the 1820's and this cast label is a great example of his work and bears a rarely encountered title.

The label is cast and consequently has a nice chunky feel, plus it is decorated with an attractive vine and grape border. The central scroll is pierced with the rare name "W. HERMITAGE" - the "W" being an abbreviation for "white".

White Hermitage is less well known than the French red wine of the same name and hails from the northern Rhone wine region. Generally known as Hermitage Blanc the wines are mostly produced from Marsanne and Roussanne grape varieties.
