Table Spoon - Double-drop pattern - London 1731 by Caleb Hill - 20.2cm long; 60g - KB/1723
This is an excellent Georgian silver table spoon forged by Caleb Hill.
Made in the prevalent pattern of the period, this handsome table spoon shows a fine example of the double drop heel to the reverse of the bowl that by circa 1730 had just come in to fashion following the earlier rattail. The reverse terminal of the handle is engraved with the "HM" initials of the original owner and the stem with a good set of hallmarks. This antique spoon has a nice solid weight in the hand and remains in excellent condition with an unworn bowl.
