6 Piece Egg Cruet, 1830

This superb George IV period silver egg cup stand holds 6 egg cups and complementing spoons. Each egg cup has a gilt (gold-wash) interior and is independently hallmarked to match the main frame. The spoons are in fiddle & shell pattern and are excellent complements with slightly earlier Glasgow hallmarks. This egg cruet or eggery stands on three scroll feet and the decoration around the base is repeated at varying points including the carrying handle and egg cup mounts. It is all in excellent condition and is a rare and desirable piece of late Georgian silver.
