Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This is an excellent quality Scottish provincial silver table spoon made in the north east town of Elgin. This fiddle pattern Georgian period spoon bears a great set of marks including two much sought after marks: the first depicting St. Giles and the other the front face of the ruined Elgin Cathedral. Elgin Cathedral was established in 1224 however it received substantial damage through various wars until it was abandoned in 1560 and its services were transferred to St Giles church in the centre of Elgin. The condition of the spoon is superb with a good thick bowl tip and original engraved initial "C" to the front terminal.
