Tazza - Round with Coat-of-Arms to Foot - London 1724 by John White (Britannia Standard) - 16.8cm diameter; 4.5cm high; 333g - PF/1916

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This is a superb George I period silver tazza or footed waiter. It has a plain circular tray on a trumpet-shaped foot and the pleasant surprise come when you turn the piece over to reveal a fantastic engraved coat-of-arms. These arms are indicative of the high quality of the piece, as considering its size, it has a really hefty feel in the hand.

Furthermore the tazza was made from Britannia Standard silver, even though the obligation to use the more pure form was revoked four years earlier. The hallmarks are in great condition. This tazza is in fine order throughout with a good colour - there is a slight impression to the top surface from where the foot joins.
