Complete and original antique silver egg cruet stands can be tricky to find and this fine Georgian example has the bonus of having been made in the Bateman family workshop.

The cruet consists of a rectangular frame standing on four bracket feet with a central carrying handle. There are six removable egg cups with gilt interiors that all bear Bateman hallmarks, plus a set of six slightly later fiddle pattern silver egg spoons. This is an excellent piece in fine condition.
