Invalid Feeding Straw - S-Shaped with Hinged Strainer - London 1824 by John Reily - 13.8cm long; 25g - HN/1859

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This very rare piece of Georgian medical related silver is an "S"-shaped feeding straw or siphon used by the elderly and infirm. This is a particular fine example as it has a hinged grill to one end for straining the food. Inside the bowl is a full set of silver hallmarks with appropriate part mark to the hinged strainer. There is an original engraved letter "W" or "M" to the outside of the straw and the overall condition is excellent.
