Firstly, the spoon has a good solid weight and was made by the Greenock-based silversmith John Heron with Glasgow hallmarks for 1830. The bowl is beautifully fluted and finished off with an attractive serrated edge. Finally, the handle is crisply decorated with a form of fiddle, thread & shell and includes an original, engraved monogram.
