Grecian Pattern Sugar Sifter Spoon, 1860

Sugar Sifter Spoon - Grecian pattern - London 1860 by George Adams - 15.1cm long; 60g - JF/8002L
Punched to the reverse of the bowl with the reassuring GA stamp of George Adams (of the premier silver flatware makers Chawner & company), this lovely sugar sifter spoon displays the Grecian pattern that was original designed in readiness for the Great Exhibition of 1851. The spoon has a beautifully pierced bowl for sprinkling the sugar over puddings, fruits and dessert (ideal these days for cornflakes too!). The Grecian pattern decoration remains crisp and the spoon benefits from having no personalised engravings. A fine quality spoon in great condition!
