Guild of Handicraft Silver Thistle Spoon, 1938
Sold
Spoon - Thistle Engraved - London 1938 by Guild of Handicraft - 15.6cm long; 37g - YA/2133
This is a lovely-looking silver spoon made by the famous arts & crafts workshop in Chipping Campden of George Hart and the Guild of Handicraft.
Most likely it was made as a child's spoon, perhaps for a christening, and has a Scottish-themed engraved thistle to the front terminal. The spoon was hand-made and shows the original spot hammering marks to the bowl together with a bold rattail extension to the handle. The spoon remains in excellent condition.
