Rattail Table Spoon, 1725

Table Spoon - Hanoverian Rat-tail pattern - London 1725 - 20.3cm long; 62g - XT/5641
This is a great quality, heavy example of a George I period silver Hanoverian Rattail table spoon. The spoon has the long central ridge to the front stem that one would expect from a spoon of this period and it has an excellent unworn bowl with intact original bowl tip. The reverse side bears an engraved betrothal triangle "H" over "TE". Three of the hallmarks are deeply struck and remain easily legible, the maker's mark however was only lightly struck and is illegible. A fine spoon with a lovely patina.
