Weighing 79 grams this is a very heavy example of an early Old English pattern silver table spoon. The engraved crest to the front terminal is further proof of this spoon having a rich provenance and it was no doubt part of a wealthy family's newly fashionable Old English pattern service.
This Georgian table spoon was made by the top quality, specialist spoonmaker, George Smith and bear an excellent set of hallmarks. It is fine condition throughout with a nice thick bowl tip and excellent patina.
