Basting Spoon - Old English Bright-cut Engraved - London 1776 by Hester Bateman - 29.8cm long; 114g - GD/6870

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This is a beautiful silver basting spoon made in the elegant Neoclassical style that so typifies the work of Hester Bateman. Also known as a stuffing or gravy spoon, this 12" long-handled serving spoon has the most attractive bright-cut engraved decoration along the handle and terminates with a crest featuring a wolf's head.

Made in the year of American Independence, this spoon is in fine condition with a good unworn bowl and has the added bonus of a clear set of hallmarks including the highly desirable "HB" in script maker's mark of Hester Bateman.
