These are a beautiful pair of Georgian silver sugar tongs that are typical of the fine pieces emanating from the famous Hester Bateman's workshop.
They are superbly decorated with bright-cut engraving which remains very crisp. They are hallmarked in the correct manner for circa 1780 with the sought after "HB" marker's mark to one arm and the lion passant to the other. An excellent pair of sugar tongs in fine condition.
