This is one of Hester Bateman's classic designs of wine label. This silver Port label is in the neo-classical taste with a goblet surmounted by a bow-tied ribbon. It is bright-cut engraved and hangs from its original belcher chain. This bottle ticket bears clear hallmarks for the period 1786-1790 and has an excellent example of the famous "HB" maker's mark. It is in fine overall condition and a good example of the type.
