Fancy back silver table spoons made by Hester Bateman are relatively scarce and this is a fine example with scroll design to the reverse of the bowl.
Made in the Hanoverian pattern, this Georgian table spoon has a good crisp scroll-back and an original engraved letter "B" to the reverse terminal. The bottom-struck hallmarks are in fine condition with a good example of Hester Bateman's cursive "HB" maker's mark. The spoon has a good bowl (minor ding to the deep of the bowl) and a lovely antique patina.
