Georg Jensen Silver

The Danish silversmith Georg Jensen was the World’s pre-eminent maker of silver during the 20th century. His career began at the very beginning of the century with a small workshop and by the time of his death in 1935 he had retail shops in Copenhagen, Berlin, London and New York City. Today his company continues with many of the original early designs still in production.

Jensen’s earliest designs were influenced by the Art Nouveau, but by the 1920’s he had employed Johan Rohde and Harald Nielsen as designers and the company flourished with quintessential Art Deco patterns, such as Cactus and Pyramid which remain popular today. Unlike many silver manufacturers, Georg Jensen continued to flourish during the 50’s and 60’s when Scandinavian design was the height of fashion and new modernistic forms were developed by Sigvard Bernadotte and Henning Koppel.

We have a healthy stock of Georg Jensen silver, in particular large quantities of sterling cutlery & flatware - the vast majority of which is not yet offered online.
