Sorry, this item is out of stock.

Sauterne is a sweet French white wine from the Sauternais region near Bordeaux and was especially popular in Ireland. The engraver and maker, and also perhaps the retailer and original owner of this silver wine label, were oblivious to the correct spelling (presumably due to the Celtic accent) which gives this Georgian bottle ticket a particularly niave, provincial charm.

The label is simple in form and bears a single "PG" makers mark to the reverse for Phineas Garde of Cork. It remains in fine condition.
