Sugar Tongs - Feather-edge pattern - Dublin circa 1780 by JB - 14cm long; 32g - GV/4241

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

These are a fabulous pair of Irish silver sugar tongs with an attractive, engraved feather edge design that circumvents the border of these tongs - including the outside of the round bowls. The outside of the bow is engraved with initials in the form of a mid-18th century betrothal triangle - where "B" is the first letter of the happy couple's surname. The hallmarks are located inside the bow - Hibernia, crowned harp and "JB" maker's mark in a punch with a serrated edge.
