Marrow Scoop - Double-ended - London 1739 by Isaac Callard - 21cm long; 51g - HT/2499
This is an excellent Georgian silver marrow scoop by the much admired maker Isaac Callard.
Taking the typical double-ended form with one wide and one narrow scoop, this good quality marrow scoop has a nice solid feel in the hand and is adorned to the reverse of the larger scoop with an engraved crest. There is an excellent clear set of hallmarks for the George II period with a fabulous example of Callard's "IC" maker's mark. An all round super piece in fine condition.
