John Figg Sugar Nips, 1853

Sugar Nips - Naturalistic - London 1853 by John Figg - 11.8cm long; 37g - HJ/1641
These are a lovely pair of Naturalistic silver sugar nips originating from the important silversmith and specialist caster, John Figg. The scissor-action stems are modelled as leafy tendrils with a ladybird adjacent to the central pivot on both sides.
The London hallmarks are spread between the two leaf sugar grips. The condition is very good, however there is a little section of original, untidy solder where one finer rings joins the central floral section.
