Vinaigrette - Rectangular with Engraved Decoration - Birmingham 1855 by Nathaniel Mills - 3.8cm x 2.7cm; 22g - YN/2075
This is an attractive looking Victorian silver vinaigrette made by the master Birmingham silver box maker, Nathaniel Mills.
The top of the hinged cover is beautifully engraved with a similar repeated design to the underside. The vinaigrette has a suspension loop to one side and upon opening reveals a lovely, scroll pierced and engraved hinged grille. The interior is gilt and includes two clear examples of the sought-after "NM" maker's mark. This vinaigrette is in fine condition with the usual marks to the inside caused by the presence of an aromatic sponge.
