This beautiful silver vinaigrette is engraved to the front cover with an idyllic rural landscape depicting a lady waiting by some bushes. The scene consisting of a lake to the foreground, thatched house to the right, village with bridge and church to the centre and hills in the distance. The vinaigrette was made by the master box maker, Nathaniel Mills. The underside is engine turned with vacant scroll cartouche to the centre. The interior is gilt and has a prettily pierced and engraved floral hinged grill for holding an aromatic sponge. The condition is excellent throughout.
