Old English Basting Spoon, 1821 Wm Bateman
Basting Spoon - Old English pattern - London 1821 by William Bateman - 302mm long; 136g - HN/3430
This is a fine quality Georgian silver basting spoon made by arguably the most accomplished of the famous Bateman family of silversmiths. The spoon bears a superb engraved lion crest to the front terminal and has a good, hefty feel in the hand. The condition is fabulous with a thick bowl tip, a fine patina and a clear set of hallmarks. A stunning serving spoon.
