Caddy Spoon - Flower Head with Lilac Chalcedony Inset - London 1927 by Omar Ramsden - 8.7cm long; 41g - AH/2059
This is a stunning example of an Omar Ramsden stone set silver caddy spoon.
The handle is formed as a flower with the central lilac-coloured chalcedony cabochon giving it a particular beauty. The bowl is pear-shaped and in typical arts and crafts manner retains its original planishing from the hand-raising by hammer.
The spoon has a good solid feel in the hand and remains in excellent condition throughout. A fine example from the greatest British silversmith of the 20th century.
