These are a terrific pair of 18thC Irish silver basting spoons in a scarce to find flatware pattern. These 12" long spoons have a typically Irish Celtic Point to the handle terminal and are attractively engraved with a feather edge border and a script "C" within a cartouche. Made by the top quality late 18th century Dublin silversmith John Pittar, these spoons have a very pleasing feel in the hand and could also be termed as gravy or stuffing spoons. Hallmarked two years apart, they are an exact matching pair with both spoons being in excellent condition complete with thick bowl tips.
