Pair of Irish Table Spoons, 1773
Sold
Table Spoons (pair) - Old English pattern - Dublin 1773 by RL (also stamped MC) - 20.5cm long; 109g combined weight - VF/1689
These are a very good pair of 18th century Irish silver table spoons. They have a nice solid weight and good sets of Dublin hallmarks, plus they are crisply engraved to the reverse terminals with a ram's head within a pair of oak branches. The maker's marks are enigmatic - there are two present and neither are recorded in Bennett "Collecting Irish Silver"; "R.L" likely the maker and "MC" likely a retailer. The spoons are in fine condition with good, thick bowl tips.
