Serving Platter - Circula; Leaf Tendril Mount - London 1838 by Paul Storr - 27.5cm diameter; 675g - AT/4832

Dating from the first year of Queen Victoria's reign, this fabulous quality silver serving platter was made by the greatest English silversmith of the 19th century, Paul Storr.

This circular plate is richly adorned to the rim with a leafy terndril mount and engraved on the border with a dragon crest surmounting a block letter "B". The underside is punched with a clear set of London hallmarks and the Paul Storr maker's mark, plus the centre bears the Storr & Mortimer stamp and the catalogue number for the platter. Paul Storr retired from his partnership with John Mortimer at the end of 1838 so this dinner plate will be amongst his final pieces.

The platter is in excellent original condition.
