Sorry, this item is out of stock.

Silver made by the partnership of Peter and Jonathan Bateman is rare and this table spoon is a great example of their work. This Old English pattern silver table spoon benefits from having no personalised engravings and a good, clear set of hallmarks, including the sought after PB/IB maker's mark, to the reverse. The spoon is in excellent condition with a good patina.

Peter and his brother Jonathan were sons of the famous Hester Bateman and their short lived partnership was cut short due to the premature death of Jonathan. All pieces with their makers mark bear the date letter "p" for 1790/1 as they worked for only 6 months during this date letter year.
