This is a lovely George III period silver caddy spoon with a very attractively decorated shovel-shaped bowl.
Made in Birmingham by the prolific Joseph Taylor, this antique caddy spoon has a hollow, fiddle-shaped handle with a vacant cartouche and a splendid flared, rectangular bowl with key hole piercings and an engraved tea plant leaf. The spoon is in excellent condition with crisp decoration and clear hallmarks.
