Scottish Silver Caddy Spoon, Aberdeen 1850
Sold
Caddy Spoon - Shaped Handle & Circular Bowl - Aberdeen circa 1850 by George Sangster - 9.8cm long; 20g - NL/9990
This is a handsome silver caddy spoon with the bonus of rare Scottish provincial marks for George Sangster of Aberdeen.
The spoon has been well-made with a lovely solid feel in the hand and with its engraved crest to the front terminal was obviously made to impress. It is unusual in having a shaped handle attached to a deep, circular bowl. The reverse is clearly marked with the "GS" mark of George Sangster and the "ABD" marks for the Granite City. The spoon is in excellent condition.
