Provincial

Scottish provincial silver includes all silver made in Scotland outside the capital Edinburgh. Glasgow produced the most silver and even had its own assay office from 1820, but other cities such as Dundee, Perth, Aberdeen and Inverness were also major silversmithing centres. We always stock some of the much more rarely found provincial centres too, for example Tain, Peterhead, Wick and the towns of Moray: Elgin, Banff and Forres.

Other Scottish provincial towns represented in our stock include Paisley, Greenock, Canongate, Cupar, Dumfries, Montrose, Arbroath, Ballater, Stonehaven, Iona and Oban.
