Silver Ale Bottle Ticket, 1790
Sold
Bottle ticket - Ale; Crescent with Bright-cut Border - London circa 1790 by Robert Hennell - 4.2cm wide - MU/1820
"Ale" or "Beer" is a scarce name on silver bottle tickets and this is a very elegant example of the former.
This crescent-shaped Georgian label has an attractive bright-cut engraved border. To the reverse are clear hallmarks for Robert Hennell and the presence of the duty mark and lack of a date letter indicate the period 1786 to 1790 for manufacture. This good-looking antique silver Ale ticket is in fine condition.
