A fine example of a Hester Bateman silver basting spoon (aka stuffing or gravy spoon). This Old English pattern 12" spoon is in excellent original condition with a good patina and no engravings. It has a clear set of hallmarks including a good example of the famous "HB" in script makers mark and the added bonus of a crisp incuse duty mark (only used between December 1784 and May 1786).
