Serving Tongs - Fiddle pattern - Exeter 1838 by W R Sobey - 24.5cm long; 163g - BA/8196

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

These are a scarce pair of Exeter hallmarked silver serving tongs made by W R Sobey. They have corrugated arms and a lip to one end to help hold the food, plus a restrainer bar around the centre to prevent over-stretching. The fiddle pattern shape is enhanced with a fabulous engraved crest featuring an urn to the outside of the bow. The condition is first class with nothing negative to report.

These serving tongs could be used for all manner of purposes and variously known as chop servers, meat or sandwich tongs or asparagus servers.
