Silver spoons used for removing motes from the holy communion wine in churches are quite rare to find and at almost 6" long, this is a good-sized antique example. The bowl retains traces of the original gilding and is in fine condition.
J Wippell & Company have been clerical outfitters and church furnishers since 1789 and continue to operate from their Exeter premises.
