Snuff Box - Rectangular with Engine Turned Decoration - Birmingham 1839 by Francis Clarke - 6.6cm x 3.7cm; 67g - DP/3935

This good-looking silver snuff box was made in Birmingham by Francis Clarke.

Pocket-sized, this top quality snuff box has lovely all over tartan-effect engine-turned decoration to both top and base, with the top having a central shield-shaped cartouche and a cast thumblift strip. The interior retains its original gilding and the stamped hallmarks.

Overall this is a very satisfying early Victorian silver snuff box that remains in fine, crisp condition.
