Spoon - Trefid with Beaded Rattail - Exeter 1708 - 22.5cm long; 55g - WP/8309

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This good-sized, handsome silver trefid spoon has a bead decorated rattail to the reverse of the bowl and a particularly elegant trefid terminal. The spoons bears a good set of Britannia Standard hallmarks from the Exeter Assay Office which opened in 1701, although there is no evidence of there having been a maker's mark. The reverse terminal is engraved with original, dated dot-pricked betrothal initials "EL" over "WS" over "1708".

This Queen Anne period spoon remain in excellent condition with a fine patina.
