Spoon - Laceback Trefid - London 1691 by Lawrence Coles - 19cm long; 47g - SP/6889</p>

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This is a great example of a scarce and sought after laceback trefid spoon with the bonus of bearing a full set of good hallmarks for the premier specialist spoonmaker, Lawrence Coles.

This William & Mary period spoon benefits from having crisp laceback decoration to both the reverse of the bowl and the front terminal of the handle - more often than not this decoration is worn from table contact, so this is a particularly fine example. The spoon has a good feel in the hand and bears original "E.W" initials to the reverse terminal. The overall condition is excellent with a full, unworn bowl, excellent decoration and a good patina.
