Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This is a particularly rare form of spoon and is peculiar to the Exeter area. It has a much broader terminal than the contemporary dog nose spoon. Edward Sweet was the main protagonist of the form and this spoon bears documentary quality Britannia Standard hallmarks. Indeed this spoon is illustrated in Tim Kent's book "West Country Silver Spoons & their Makers" (Plate G4 p.158/9). This spoon has many positive features including the full, unworn bowl, beaded rattail, dot-pricked betrothal initials with date and a superb patina. A truly fantastic spoon!
